Original message sent October 07, 2020 Currently the number of people that show up at the Wellness Center with symptoms that could be considered possible COVID-19 related is less than 10 per day, and most days it is around 3-5 per day. Additionally, the rate of positive results has dropped significantly, plus we haven't had a hospitalized COVID patient in quite some time. Naturally all this could change if another wave appears.
We have caught up on all firefighter physicals that we had postponed this last time.
At this time we are accepting all physicals and that would include retirees and all spouses. All of our providers are strongly encouraging all patients that may be behind in getting their annual physicals to please make an appointment.
It is safe to enter our building, separation of sick and healthy people and their respective treatment areas continues and diligently cleaned after each patient. Screening will continue prior to entering building and face coverings continue to be required. Sick patients will continue to wait in the vehicles once checked in until a room is ready.
Open Enrollment
Open enrollment will only be two weeks this year, Oct 27th - November 9th. Fire rescue employees will do any changes to health and dental thru the portal at work. Retirees will do health and dental changes by completing a status change form which can be found on the web-site myffbenefits.com. Changes to Accident Policy or Critical Illness Policy can be done here mybensite.com/pbcff.
Any Question please call the office @ 561-969-6663 and ask for Rick, Tamara, Ed or Mike.
Flu Vaccines
Flu vaccines are available for ages 6 months and up, all providers at the Wellness Center highly recommend getting vaccinated this year especially with all the COVID issues still around.
Reminder Info
A new process we have established for sick patients is to have you wait in your car after check in until your room is ready. And as before all rooms will be sanitized after each patient.
As a reminder the Wellness Center hours will be 8am-7pm Monday thru Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We are doing this in order to give staff the ability to do a deep clean each night before they go home.
Remember wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing, wear face coverings when necessary and for those of you on the trucks please use your PPE at all times and practice good hygiene!
